My company has outgrown its building, and is starting to shift departments to leased space in surrounding buildings. Next week, I'll be joining the exodus.
I'm kind of bummed about it. On the plus side, we gain a more relaxed atmosphere. We can decorate how we want, wear what we want, plus we'll have access to our own dedicated conference rooms. But there are cubicles (ugh), and the space is considerably less modern/cool.
As long as I have room for all of my various car models at my new desk, things will be fine, I'm sure.

Is that the Hancock tower?

Change is hard.
The company where I work now has an open-plan office. In order to accommodate shifting project teams, changes in staff, etc, it's common to have a wholesale staff movement every couple of months. One day you've got a decent view of the office and you're close to a window, the next day you're facing a wall.

All I know is that it's the first stock image that comes up for "office building."

Next you get moved downstairs to Storage B... And you STILL haven't received your paycheck.

I wish we would move. We are stuck in the building we are in by deed (we are a hospital system that is a deeded/trustee system and they say we have to stay downtown) and we are all out of room. I went from a windowed office to sharing an inner office, which wouldn't be so bad if we weren't both video producers who need to listen to audio monitors.

We're about to get bumped to a storage area somewhere while they gut renovate our office space for a month. It's going to be fantastic...

Say Hi to Milt when you get there. He's in Storage Room B.

Our building is being sold but we are temp leasing back some it while the new owners renovate. I have to move server rooms 2 times in the next year and lose my prime windowed office and move to a cubicle farm in a windowless box. I keep trying to tell myself it will be awesome in the end because "New Office!" but its going to be a long 8 months.

Ha! Apparently, the reason for this culture of movement is somewhat more innocent.
In a former office that occupied an old building, there were three sections: with windows, with windows that looked out onto a wall, and no windows. Once very 3 months, everyone rotated through the building to ensure no-one spent prolonged amounts of time in the "dungeon".
